Chess Festival Groningen 2014

The 52nd edition of the Chess Festival Groningen, taking place from December 21st up to and including December 30th this year, again will bring hundreds of chess players of all levels to Groningen, the Capital of the North of the Netherlands.
In 2014 the University of Groningen celibrates its 400th anniversary. One of the highligts of the centennium festivities will be the Chess Festival, in which students from all over the world are invited to take part. Click here for this official invitation.
Furthermore we have staged two matches between highly talented national (youth) players and renowned (grand)masters. The first one is between European Youth Champion 2013 U14 Jorden van Foreest (2455 IM) and former Dutch Champion Dimitri Reinderman (2592 GM); the second one is between reigning Dutch Women Champion Anne Haast (2357 WIM) and German IM Elisabeth Paehtz (2477).
