2nd Japan-the Netherlands Student Conference (University of Groningen, The Netherlands)

The 2nd Japan-the Netherlands student conference was held in University of Groningen on 14-15 September. From Osaka University 15 students attended from the Schools of Human science(5), Law(3), Foreign studies(2), Engineering(1), Engineering Science(1), Dentistry(1), Economics(1) and Letters(1). From university of Groningen also 15 students attended.
The Osaka university students stayed in Groningen from 11 September till 22 of September. During their stay in Groningen many activities (Cycling trip, Excursion tour and BBQ party etc) were held. They also visited companies in Amsterdam and Den Haag.
It was quite honorable for the conference that Ambassador Mr. Takashi Koezuka (Embassy of Japan in The Netherlands) kindly presented a key note lecture “The relationship between Japan and the Netherlands: past and present”.
On the first day of the conference, Japan and Dutch students made presentations focus on “ Working and the working poor/ unemployed” and “Student’s career choices”, and on the second day on “Globalization within the business context” and “Social life and job satisfaction”. In the ending they had an open session about “Work to live/live to Work”.
Next year the 3rd Japan-Dutch student conference will be held on other theme at Osaka University.
